Use Last Email Received Date as List Criteria in Bullhorn Automation

Last Email Received Date is only available to clients using Bullhorn ATS.

Lists

Bullhorn Automation now allows users to build lists based on when a contact or candidate last received an email, enabling smarter suppression and more respectful outreach.

What's new?

Bullhorn Automation now exposes the Last Email Received Date field as searchable list criteria for Candidates, Sales Contacts, and Leads.

Once enabled, users can filter on this field using the following options:

  • Less Than

  • More Than

  • Before

  • After

  • Has

  • Does Not Have

The field appears consistently as Last Email Received Date across all three entity types. Visibility is fully controlled by a feature flag. For Leads, the field becomes available after the first ATS sync completes following enablement.

Why does it matter?

This enhancement addresses a key concern around automated outreach, specifically the risk of continuing follow-up emails after a contact has already replied.

With Last Email Received Date available as list criteria, teams can build intelligent suppression lists that automatically exclude contacts and candidates who have engaged via email. This helps prevent unnecessary or redundant follow-ups, increases confidence in using automated and personalized outreach, and improves the overall candidate and contact experience by respecting engagement signals.
